We are nearing the end of 2022 and that means it’s time for Mid-Canada Forestry and Mining to cover mining shows in the region. Enjoy the following guide to these events, which are listed in chronological order.

Central Canada Mineral Exploration Convention (CCMEC) November 14-15, 2022 | www.ccme-convention.ca

Founded in November 2018, CCMEC was the first-ever industry-driven mineral exploration convention in Manitoba. This year, CCMEC 2022 will take place over two days from November 14th to 15th, at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg. The event will bring forth all stakeholders in the mineral exploration and mining industry in central Canada including investment firms, exploration and mining companies, Indigenous groups, Government officials, prospectors, ESG organizations, suppliers, and academic institutions, while showcasing innovation and advancement in the sector.

The vision for CCMEC is to be one of the international conventions of choice, which will establish Manitoba as a global centre for exploration and mining. CCMEC organizers hope to continue the success from previous years with another exciting event for the central Canada mining and mineral exploration industry. CCMEC 2022 is currently accepting exhibitors and offering sponsorship opportunities.

Sponsorship and exhibitor registration is now open. Visit www.ccme-convention.ca or contact coordinator@ccme-convention.ca for more information.

 Yukon Geoscience Forum & Tradeshow November 19-22, 2022 | www.yukongeoscience.ca

The 51st Annual Yukon Geoscience Forum & Tradeshow is being held in Whitehorse, Yukon on November 19-22, 2022. The show is presented in partnership by the Yukon Chamber of Mines, Yukon Geological Survey, and BMC Minerals.

Every year, the Geoscience Forum & Tradeshow offers opportunities to celebrate relationships and build partnerships, while keeping to up to date with trends and best practices in the industry. The forum hosts First Nations, government, and industry under one roof and encourages attendees to interact with each other while exploring geopolitical themes and technical topics.

The success of the Yukon Geoscience Forum has been rooted in the strength of the technical program, which is currently accepting submissions. The Geoscience Tradeshow features exhibitors from around the world and lasts through four days. Located beside the technical sessions, attendees are encouraged to interact with vendors through events like the ‘ice-breaker’ reception and lunches on the show floor.

In addition, the Yukon Geoscience Forum hands out awards to well-deserving nominees in three categories: Member, Community, and First Nations in Mining. If you know of excellence in these categories, make sure to fill out a nomination form prior to the conference.

Registration is opening soon. If you are interested in registering, submitting an abstract, filling out a award nomination form, or learning more, visit www.yukongeoscience.ca.

 Saskatchewan Geological Open House November 28-30, 2022 | www.openhouse.sgshome.ca

The Annual Saskatchewan Geological Open House is set to take place at the Delta Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon this year, from November 28 to 30, 2022.

The conference is co-hosted by the Saskatchewan Geological Survey (Ministry of Energy and Resources, Government of Saskatchewan), and the independent, non-profit Saskatchewan Geological Society. The event profiles high-quality geoscience in support of Saskatchewan’s mineral industry, while promoting earth sciences to the public.

Each year, the Open House features a strong technical program that begins Tuesday morning and concludes Wednesday afternoon. The program will profile the geoscience endeavours of the Saskatchewan Geological Survey and feature a number of talks from academia and industry that highlight various Saskatchewan exploration and development projects, as well as advances in exploration techniques. An ice breaker event, trade show, poster session, and short courses round out the event.

Commercial exhibits will be located within the Conference Foyer, Terrace Lounge, and the Adam Ballroom of the main Convention floor and in the William Pascoe Room on the Mezzanine floor. Technical posters and technical talks are on the Mezzanine floor, within the William Pascoe Room and Battleford Room respectively. Exhibition space is limited, so book now.

The call for abstracts is open until September 30, 2022. Session spaces are limited so authors will be notified by email at the start of October if their submission has been accepted or not. For more information, email
